I am a Lead Mainframe Developer with 24 years experience as an analyst and programmer on the IBM mainframe MVS system, utilizing COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS and SAS. My knowledge of the DB2 relational database product is very extensive. It includes embedded SQL, design and creation of database objects such as tables and indexes, and awareness of performance and optimization issues surrounding data updating and retrieval within a high-volume architecture. I have served as a DB2 resource expert for a team of developers working across multiple projects, and I have been responsible for providing oversight and maintenance for a series of test databases used by developers.I have worked on many new development and maintenance projects for various organizations in the financial industry, handling responsibilities that span the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) process. My recent experience has focused on working with business partners to define complex requirements, analyzing requirements to create functional designs, translating functional designs into detailed technical specifications, writing code and supervising offshore programming tasks. To support these activities, I have developed strong oral and written communication skills and have built a working knowledge of how to address the challenges and difficulties that often occur in the various stages of the SDLC process.
