Maintenance Engineer Surrey County CouncilUndertake the day-to-day stewardship of the highway network within an area team and assist in the identification, planning, development, integration and implementation of maintenance works programmes and services that aim to make the experience of travel in Surrey safer, sustainable, and more predictable with more choice. Working as the local face of Highways & Transport and as the focal information point for all highway activity in a defined local patch :-• Ensure the implementation of the County Council’s Customer Care policies in relation to highways maintenance and the street scene, taking ownership of their geographical area of responsibility.• Advise and support the maintenance engineers (and other managers in the service) in the identification, planning, implementation and inspection of maintenance works (including Street works), and to assist the engineers with tasking the operational Community Gangs.• To act as the local “eyes and ears” for other central teams, including planned maintenance, licensing and crossovers and developer related works• Communicate and engage proactively and responsively with customers, Members and identified local stakeholder groups regarding local issues, so as to enhance knowledge and understanding of Highways & Transport.
