I gained this position upon completion of my exams, within this role I have been given ownership of the planning, marketing and delivery of some of the organisation biggest annual events. The events include the Lincolnshire coaches’ conference; this requires me to work to a budget for the venue and payment of external individuals to deliver workshops at the event.Other events I have been responsible for have included our presence at the Lincolnshire Show which included the development of brochures and other advertising materials such as posters for the social media accounts of the organisation. This role is allowing me to further develop my communication skills as I am having to keep in contact with external partners over the a variety of upcoming events as well as organising other staff members regarding the delivery of events.

During my 2 years I have been involved with wide range of sessions and participants, I had my own weeknight community football session for all ability levels. This required the planning and delivery of the session, but just as important was the liaising with parents, advertising of the other session within the project. I was also in charge of the health and safety of participants, money collection and registration of participants. I have been also involved in the half term and summer holiday football and multi-sport days this again required a great deal of enthusiasm and patience to ensure all children were enjoying the day but also trying to make sure they left having learnt something new. These experiences have further developed my inter personal skills, organisation and adaptability as you often never knew for sure on number of participants meaning the need for constant adjustment and thinking on your feet was required.

Working with the under 11’s, this placement has really challenged my knowledge and coaching practice due to the ability level of the athletes I have been working with. I have been able to examine my own coaching practice to get the best out the athletes.I feel working in an academy setting has allowed me to get a great overview of a whole range of sports settings from education, community setting and working with elite athletes.

My experiences started in the federation as a teaching assistant in the PE department of a secondary school. I was in this role for 4 years, and during that time I worked within, primary, .secondary and sixth form settings. This meant I have been able to work with young children in reception, up to young adults in sixth form. The biggest challenges I faced during this time was to be given ownership of my own groups within lessons throughout the whole curriculum and extra-curricular activities. Ultimately to be successful in the role, required good levels of practical knowledge, behaviour management skills and being able to differentiate for the variety of abilities of students in a PE environment. The group work was applicable in both the classroom and on the sports field.
