Piketon Ohio

Administered and managed the Radiation Protection Program to ensure worker safety and environmental protection while maintaining compliance with Department of Energy orders. I had responsibility for over 120 technicians, engineers, managers and supervisors who supported the program, including dosimetry, instrumentation, operations and training. Developed a new radiological program including 87 new procedures. Developed the radiological controls for and oversaw the removal of process equipment from the gaseous diffusion cascade system. These systems were formerly used to enrich uranium. Approved survey and release plans which allowed for the demolition and removal of large facilities at the Piketon site.

Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the radiological safety program including dosimetry, instrumentation and training sections. Oversaw the development and execution of survey and relaese plans to allow for the demolition and release of major facilities at the Department of Energy Piketon Site. This included six cooling towers, warehouses, a process test facility and an electrical switchyard. Acted as cost account manager for more than one million dollars annually. Helped develope an integrated safety management system site wide.

Fernald Ohio

Worked as a manager and supervisor in the Safety and Health department during the successfull remediation of the Department of Energy Fernald site. Fernald was a uranium processing facility that was shut down in 1989. I served as radiologcal supervisor for every major building demolition project performed between 1992 and 2001. I was promoted to Radiological Control Manager for the last five years of remediation work. Oversaw the dosimetry, compliance and engineering departments. The Fernald Remediation Project was completed under budget and far earlier than originally scheduled.

Fernald Ohio

Provided radiolgical safety support to ensure protection of the workforce and the environment. I was instrumental in the developing a new Department of Energy compliant radiological program. I developed and presented radiological control technician training to ensure comopliance with the new DOE regulations.

Norfolk, Virginia Area

Worked as an Engineering Laboratory technician and Machinist Mate in the Reactor department of the aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower. Manged projects, scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs, oversaw work quality, and ensured compliance with safety regulations.
