Since I was young I’ve always loved building things. Starting off with plastic modelling when I was 10, I have always pushed myself to create the coolest, most interesting and creative things possible. A keen interest in physics and mathematics at school lead to a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Brunel University which I now use on a day to day basis working in the torque calibration and certification industry to design, build and test state of the art torque tool calibration machines, instrumentation and software.I now have over 3 years’ experience in torque calibration:• Interpreting and working to National and International Torque Calibration Standards• Metrology and Uncertainties of Measurement.• 3D designing and 2D drawing for manufacture using Solidworks.• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. • Writing technical documentation such as product manuals, datasheets and marketing material.In my career my main goal is to gain enough experience to one day become a chartered engineer and in the meantime gain as much experience as possible in engineering design and interesting technical disciplines.In 2018 I discovered 3D printing and became fascinated with the technology and its capabilities. I built my first 3D printer from a kit and used that to build my second 3D printer from scratch. Since then I have 3D printed and upgraded my 3D printer several times and perform regular routine maintenance. I use this printer regularly to prototype my designs for electrical enclosures, parts for work and a wide variety of decorative and table top wargaming accessories.My previous job in Morrisons has given me a customer orientated attitude and strong communication skills which I now use to present technical concepts such as 3D design and printing to local model engineering and radio amateur clubs.In all aspects of my life I love experimenting, tinkering and trying new things. My other hobbies include Arduino electronics projects (for example a temperature and humidity sensor with 3D printed housing and the enclosure for a time counting cube), reading; plastic scale modelling and tabletop wargaming; Freestyle Martial Arts and growing herbs and spices.
