I am a Full-stack Software Engineer specialized in SaaS Web Applications. I am currently in a senior role at Author-IT Software Corporation, developing Node.js micro-services and Angular client applications using Typescript. I also have responsibilities as a People Coach and Agile Architect in the Software team within the Technology department.I began my career in Direct Sales gaining strong communication skills. My strength was mentoring others and developing and managing sales teams. Within 2 years I had successfully built a customer acquisitions business working alongside well-known local and international brands.After 8 years in sales I wanted a new direction, focused on the area of running a business I most enjoyed – developing and improving business systems. I began at university with the intention of becoming a Business Analyst, but fell in love with programming after a Computational Thinking paper learning Python.My ambition and drive for excellence helped me push hard at university. I earned a Bachelor of Information Science in Software Engineering with a minor in Business Information Systems. By graduation I had achieved a 7.68 GPA and was awarded 2017 Massey Scholar for Sciences.I began working as a Junior Developer after my second year at university, and was promoted to Software Developer just 9 months later. The business had heavily outsourced development offshore and had a solitary in-house Senior Developer. When that individual decided to move on there was only myself and another Junior Developer remaining to keep the company’s Web Applications up and running. Soon after the business decided to no longer outsource and so developed an in-house team. I was an integral part of that transition, utilizing my leadership, communication, and problem solving skills. Less than 3 years after starting in my new career I was rewarded with a promotion to Senior Developer.
