As Managing Director of Gould Thorpe Planning Pty Ltd, I lead a diverse and multi-disciplinary team of consultants working with government, private and community sector clients. I am also responsible for business development and financial management for the company.I am a project manager with more than 25 years' experience in infrastructure, strategic planning and community engagement projects. I have worked across all tiers of government, beginning my career as a policy officer in the Commonwealth Government in Canberra before moving to local government in NSW as a strategic planner and social planning manager. Subsequently I worked with the NSW State Government as a project manager and then as a national policy officer for State and Federal Housing Ministers. My key achievements in these various roles were to progress social policy outcomes within larger planning, policy or infrastructure delivery projects. On returning to South Australia in 2007, I joined with Janet Gould and expanded our company Gould Thorpe Planning to become the largest specialist community engagement consultancy in the state. Over the last 17 years, I have managed stakeholder relations and community engagement teams on some of the most significant planning and infrastructure projects in SA, including the Public Transport Projects Alliance, Torrens Rail Junction Project, Transforming Health, the Integrated Transport and Land Use Plan, South Road Superway, Seaford Rail Extension, Glenelg to Adelaide Park Lands Recycled Water Project and the Adelaide Desalination Project. I have also coordinated social impact assessments for mining projects, demographic analysis for the planning of school provision across the state, and land and easement acquisition for new power supply projects.
