My first role at Wren was as a kitchen designer in Chester. In my 6 months as a Designer I was the top sales person in the Region for the month of March selling over £130,000 inside a 4 week period.After 6 months at Wren I was promoted to assistant manager in the Chester Store. Whilst I was the Assistant manager of Chester we had a very successful January sale, with the store turnover at £1,450,000 over 5 weeks, massively over achieving targets set by the company.After another 6 months, whilst as the Assistant manager of Chester I transferred to the Liverpool branch (Aintree) and before long was promoted to the Store Manager. As Store Manager of Liverpool I learnt a lot about the difference in responsibility of the Assistant Manager and the Store Manager and became a better leader of people. I grew the team from 4 to 12, completing all of the recruitment personally. Whilst Manager of the store we only missed 3 weekly targets from 29 and finished at 121%, well above target for the year.In the October of 2013 I was asked to transfer to Bolton as Store Manager. Bolton was one of the biggest stores in the North of the company and by the time I left the store Bolton was the biggest grossing store in the North of the company, turning over just over £5,100,000. As Bolton store manager I managed a much larger team successfully and became a better manager and delegator.In July of 2014 I applied to open York, a flagship store of Wren. I was successful in my application and set up the store and recruited my own team. York is now the 4th highest grossing store in the company this year and is on track to achieve the targets set by the company of £7,000,000 on kitchens alone.

My role was to create new business opportunities for digital marketing which involved generating leads, attending meetings, establishing and maintaining client relationships. The variety of companies I was dealing with developed my appreciation for communicating on different appropriate levels to achieve a positive outcome and I was the first member of the graduate team to acquire a new contract.

I organised team sessions to boost morale and team cohesion leading to my Department achieving the best improvement on target in the country.The continuous involvement I had with the Store and Regional Managers, as well as my team, helped to improve my leadership, forward planning and communication skills.
