I am responsible for leading the Engagement team Cosmos.My key focus is the development and successful management of Engage, our learning platform. Engage provides high-quality learning programmes, workshops and toolkits to assist education professionals support their young learners. This includes creating and providing our community with the resources, and training to facilitate the content with their learners. Schools And Colleges Liaison / Widening Participation Officer
A great role within a small team tasked with meeting student recruitment and widening participation objectives of the university. A role that included creating and deliver workshop, summer schools and sustained programmes to young learners within West Yorkshire and surrounding areas. Much of my role was building upon my previous experiences within higher education. However, within this role I took on a number of lead project responsibilities. One of which was the universities UCAS programme. Management of the UCAS programme for the university included, but was not limited to:Organising attendance of UCAS fairs to set and meet the objectives by analysing data of previous years. Within this role I had full project responsibility and management.Creating marketing material (displays, merchandise, free giveaways) - this included working with several departments within the university, including a close working relationship with the Marketing Department. Managing the logistics - this included delivery of marketing material to each fair, the booking of travel and accommodation, organising and working with Student Ambassadors, colleagues and lecturers to attend fairs.Meeting objectives through data collection of attendees - this included achieving new data collection records at a number of important UCAS fair locations.Internal Stakeholder Management - I was required to work closely with internal team members, colleagues from wider departments and university lecture staff to create a rota of staff to attend every fair. Importantly managing the use of Student ambassadors and managing their safety and wellbeing. External Stakeholder Management - such a large project required the services of many external stakeholders to ensure the project was a success. Set and meet a number of performance objectives. Budget Management.Things that can go wrong very often do, so it required a calm approach to situations in time pressured situations.
Student Administrator - Undergraduate & Postgraduate Accounting & Finance
During my time at Leeds Beckett university as a Student Administrator I had the responsibility of over 500 students. I was the sole administrator for 4 postgraduate courses that were delivered both on campus and via distance learning routes. I was also a joint administrator for the largely popular and successful undergraduate Accounting and Finance course. My Main duties included:First point of contact for studentsCorresponded daily with students, academics, external examiners, senior managers and external stakeholders via email, telephone, letters, and formal or informal meetings.Closely working with academic staff and other departments within the university, where I created strong working relationships.Using a range of Microsoft packages daily especially Excel, Word and Outlook mail & calendar.Supporting a range of recruitment and student related events such as open days, induction events, Clearing, graduation and UCAS days across England.Organising the submission of student work for assessment and working with colleagues in Quality Assurance & Governance. Providing daily support to academic members of staff to aid with course delivery.Maintain student records on BANNER – a closed university student record system.Provide advice and support for all course related issues, including mitigations and submissions.Plan, organise and prepare Award Boards and Exam Committees and other course specific meetings. This includes inviting academics and external examiners, minute taking, preparing the documents, ensuring proper university policies and procedures are followed.Complete the administrative processes associated with assessment including support for the examination process, entering student marks and the communication of marks and results.Secretary formal meetings.

Projects Administration Assistant within the Access and Widening Participation team again, as well as working within other teams within the University. Building on my previous duties, in this role my responsibilities also included:Planning and facilitating activities for groups of young people. I work with students of all ages (from 9 to 18) and have experience of working in both small (e.g. groups of 4-25) and large groups (up to 250 students). Activities include high school workshops, interview practice, primary activities, etc. Supporting team members with delivery of projectsGeneral administration support for team members – including collating and inputting feedback from events. Liaising and communicating with external parties to arrange events (e.g. schools, Leeds City Council, etc.) Managing various projects simultaneously to deliver to set deadlines. Working with Student Ambassadors and volunteers from various departments across the University to brief them on upcoming events.

This often involved working as part ofa sub group within the overall team.Manage groups of Student Ambassadors during events. Actively develop and mentor Student Ambassadors. I attended a number of different training courses to help with my continuousdevelopment within the role.
