Community Planning and Capacity Building Lead for the San Juan Metropolitan Area. This area covers the municipalities of Dorado, Toa Baja, Catano, Bayamon, Guaynabo, San Juan, Carolina and Trujillo Alto and is called "Branch Five" in FEMA's Puerto Rico operation.Mission entails supporting recovery and resiliency building efforts with Federal, State and Municipal governments as well as private entities.

o Point of contact for the CPCB team in FEMA PR Branch III; the biggest and most complex in the Nation at that time, covering 28 municipalities on the Eastern and Central parts of Puerto Rico.o Supported recovery and resiliency efforts carried out by Federal, State and Municipal governments, as well as private entities, by coordinating the alignment of needs with the resources to quench them.o Coordinated projects between a 5-member team and served as a liaison between them and Branch Command, FEMA programs, sections, and CPCB leadership.o Monitored, promoted and reported team's progress.

Part of Branch III Community Planning and Capacity Building's (CPCB) team in FEMA's DR-4339-PR Branch III. This Branch covered 28 municipalities on the Eastern and Central parts of the Island and was DR-4339-PR most encompassing and complex.Mission consisted of supporting recovery and resiliency efforts carried out by Federal, State and Municipal governments, as well as private entities.

o In charge of FEMA PR’s Branch III Planning Group, assisting the largest and most complex response effort in FEMA, up to that date. o Managed Branch III's Planning Unit personnel, products and requirements. o Coordinated with Branch Command, other Branch Leadership and disaster-wide Planning Section leadership. o Responsible for Branch-wide “All Hands” messages. o Facilitated the Incident Action Planning (IAP) process and disaster recovery meetings (Branch Synchronization Meetings, All Hands meetings, etc.). o Managed overall Incident Action Plan and Disaster Recovery Processes. o Addressed problems and issues related to planning. o Directed staff’s work and products. Performed personnel performance evaluations. Evaluated system and access needs. Evaluated and certified Planning Unit personnel timecards.

Planning, programming and implementing of social impact initiatives in low income communities.• Boosted local socio-economic development and agriculture by co-programming the very successful Caimito Agricultural Market. This government-community project involves dozens of local vendors, generates thousands of dollars in sales and is coordinated in agreement with local leaders and stakeholders.• Increased citizen empowerment by co-managing an AmeriCorps team that worked with urban agriculture, technology education and community organization. • Key facilitator in underprivileged communities. Responsible for planning, community mobilizing and networking. • Saved more than $35,500 in imperiled Municipal funds by amending AmeriCorps reimbursement reports. • Increased citizen involvement by facilitating the San Juan Participatory Budget project, an inclusive process where residents propose and elect ideas on how government should invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in their community.• Enhanced community organization and infrastructure by designing appropriate work strategies and putting them into action. • Designed office work plans and tools.
