Description:Primary responsibility of the Platform Manger is to ensure availability, performance, and security SLAs (service level agreements; typically defined between client and service provider but in some cases may be defined by internal lines of business) are met for client facing applications created and supported by Gensler Information Solutions. Providing input / challenge to platform engineering solutions from a deployment and system management perspective, day to day management of the project resources working on platform initiatives and ensuring they are focused on delivering business objectives, provide support capabilities and infrastructure to maintain SLA agreements, and provide technical leadership by being conversant with current and emerging technologies and how they relate to current and future GIS offerings and how these developments can be exploited.Major Responsibilities:1. Design and management of the infrastructure to support GIS offerings.2. Design and implementation of the service deployment architecture (i.e. promotion tools & target environments).3. Change Management policies and enforcement through monitoring, auditing and reporting systems including bug resolution.4. Ensure applications and changes are delivered at highest quality level while not compromising project objectives.5. Management of server capacity plan and service offering continuity processes.6. Management of platform services & infrastructure outsourced to, or integrated with, third parties.7. Maintain a secure platform at a level matching or exceeding SLA agreements.8. Oversight and approval of software applications used that directly affect client deliverables though GIS applications.9. Oversight and approval of databases, languages, services, SDKs etc. that are to be supported within the GIS application environments stacks.10. Provide infrastructure and support for devices identified by studio/project leaders.

Originally started as independent business (DT Computing) to allow me to support a former employer on part-time basis.As my interest in web applications and databases grew, word spread and I soon began to get calls requesting service. A few years later, as business grew solely on word of mouth, I brought on 2 more developers/partners so we could still maintain full-time positions elsewhere and feed our passion on a part-time basis. As our successes continued and client demand grew a decision had to be made, leave NetKinetix or make it a full-time career choice. Ultimately I chose to sell my shares to maintain family benefits. I'm proud that I still keep contact with my ex-business partners and that NetKinetix continues to provide first class products and services.

Started as graphic artist using AutoCAD to make layouts for screen printing. This is where I started my interest in programming. Creating and modifying scripts using AutoLisp to automate numerous steps needed for graphics in offset printing. Also assisted with IT issues as needed.
