My practice focuses on complex domestic and multijurisdictional disputes and investigations across a number of industry sectors. I have particular experience advising on contentious insolvency and banking matters.I have also acted on a number of disputes on behalf of energy sector clients, most notably the successful defense of Texas Keystone, the U.S. oil and gas company, against Excalibur Ventures' high-profile $1.6+ billion claim for an interest in petroleum fields in Iraqi Kurdistan, for which Jones Day received numerous awards, including being named Litigation Team of the Year at The British Legal Awards, The Lawyer Awards, and Legal Business Awards. I also advised on the groundbreaking follow-on litigation against Excalibur's third-party litigation funders and have written and spoken on issues surrounding third-party funding.My other recent experience includes: advising on high-profile insolvency proceedings, including across the manufacturing, aviation, and retail sectors; representing a global bank in connection with investigations brought by regulatory and enforcement agencies, including the FCA, SFO, and DOJ in relation to forex; advising a global bank in relation to OFT and related proceedings; advising Bonhams, the auction house, in a high-profile dispute regarding a vintage Ferrari racing car; acting on committal and conspiracy proceedings arising from complex multijurisdictional litigation; and acting for a leading international pharmaceutical company in connection with a multijurisdictional contractual dispute.
