Independent Contractor - Web Director
Events: -Gray Summit, Purina Show Dogs 2012As an independent contractor, I was the Web Director for the American Kennel Club’s Belle City Winter Classic. This job involved running a NewTek Tricaster 350 which includes two VTRS, two graphic generators, and audio playback, plus three cameras, and five audio feeds, then broadcasting live via Livestream.com. My intended role was to run the Tricaster as a TD during the live segments under a primary Director and to run the commercial segments and some transitions myself. As it would happen, the primary Director was called away after we got started and I took over as the primary Director for about 70% of the four hour show. We estimated the online audience to be upwards of 700 viewers. Each camera from this show ran an ISO recording. Those ISOs and the line cut including the comm audio were used to re-cut the show for broadcast on network television. -Boston, Purina Incredible Dog Challenge 2014-Atlanta, Purina Incredible Dog Challenge 2015-Los Angleles, Purina Incredible Dog Challenge 2014 & 2015-Grey Summit, Purina Incredible Dog Challenge 2014 & 2015The Purina Incredible Dog Challenge is a multi-camera shoot similar to Purina Show Dogs. As a sporting event, the pace is faster and the duration is longer with several rounds for various skill sets. I served as the Web Director as well as one of the primary on-site infrastructure techs, dealing with video distribution and several independent networks providing IP video streaming connections and standard data connections.

Entertainment Tech Iii
I was hired by Sea World Parks & Entertainment to work on the new Christmas Town event at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay as a seasonal employee. I worked in varying capacities from set and prop manufacturing and assembly to lighting installation and set rigging. I served in the warehouse as well as the park. According to park policy, employees must be trained and certified internally to run most equipment. I have been signed off on standard vehicles plus box truck, forklift, lull (off-road forklift with a boom), and scissor lift. Although I have not needed to run a show, I have received basic lighting and audio training enabling me to cover vacant show positions in time of need. This term with Busch Gardens has reawakened my interest in rigging. I’ve had some experience rigging at Idlewild, but the Christmas Town installation involved rigging various elements ranging from smaller lighting elements to several-hundred pound topiaries over guest areas. I find myself much more interested in rigging than in lighting and audio.I rejoined the team at Busch Gardens Tampa in April 2013, starting in Consumer Events working on preparations for Howl O Scream and Kinetix. The release of the Technician Career Ladder to seasonal employees provided me with new training opportunities that I have pursued in earnest, including the Rigging class with Jay Glerum and High Reach training. In the Summer, I was transferred to the Moroccan Palace, where I have served as Video, E-Track, and Follow Spot 1&2 as well as serving on Scenic and Rigging work nights. In the Palace, I have worked with the Scenic Lead to redesign and build props such as the umbrella for the Great Barrier Reef scene. I also serve as Opening Tech and have begun training on Follow Spot in the Desert Grill. Under the direction of a show manager, I assisted in development and deployment of the new version of the Technician Career Ladder.
