About Daniel Turner

I am a Audio and Machine learning engineer/researcher currently looking for my next role. Previously, I was an Audio DSP Researcher at Creative Technology LTD/Creative Labs, UK working on audio DSP and spatial audio methods for products such as loudspeakers, sound bars and headphones. Prior to this, between 2018 and 2023, I was a PhD researcher at the AudioLab, School of Physics, Engineering, and Technology, University of York, UK. My research explored the application of machine learning to spatial audio processing for immersive media experiences and was funded by an EPSRC iCASE studentship in partnership with BBC Research and Development. I have received a First Class BA(Hons) in Popular Music with Music Technology (2012) and an MSc in Audio Engineering with Distinction (2018), both from University of Derby, Derby, UK. I also hold a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education (2015) from Canterbury Christ Church University, Canterbury, UK, and previously taught audio production at Further Education colleges.
