Flexible Joint Production - Mero 2 FPSOOil States was awarded this 8 figure USD value project from Brazil's Petrobras in March 2021, and I was chosen to lead this project through completion expected in the Summer of 2022. The project is currently on track for an on-time and on budget delivery. Specific responsibilities involve management of various subcontracts including forging (Ringmill, Italy), NDE testing suppliers, machining and anti-corrosion cladding. In-house activity responsibilities include flexible element molding and final test management.

Project Manager of the Oil States Tendon Tension Monitoring System (TTMS). The TTMS is a large-scale electro-mechanical system used in the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry to provide tension feedback for the mooring legs of Tension Leg Platforms, or TLPs. Oil States maintains the TTMS for 12 platforms currently commissioned in the Gulf of Mexico, and another recently installed in the South China Sea. This new head end hardware is based on National Instruments cRIO data loggers, HP Proliant Servers, and multiple proprietary PCBs. It replaces a system designed in the early 1990s, and provides greater flexibility and scalability on many of the existing platforms, such as the Conoco Phillips Magnolia Platform, which was upgraded in early 2015. For new installations, though, the Generation II Data Acquisition System is paired with subsea improvements in cabling and connector technology for new platforms to maximize benefit, platforms such as Shell Oil’s MarsB Olympus and Chevron’s Big Foot in the Gulf of Mexico and Shell Sabah Petroleum’s Malikai Platform in the South China Sea.

Primarily responsible for the program management of an avionics hardware and software project to develop, test, and qualify an LRU multifunction controller for the Gulfstream G650 Business Jet. This controller was held to the DO-178B Level B software development standard and the DO-254 Level B hardware development standard. Management responsibilities included recommendation and selection of hardware and software subcontractors, leading subcontracted engineering activities including, but not limited to, project planning, specification writing, execution of engineering development, scope management, change management, risk management, performance measurement and monitoring, and management reporting. Responsible for managing relationships and communications between internal Gables functions, subcontractors, and external customer to ensure cost, schedule and quality focused project execution.

Primarily responsible for software development for avionics control panels. Target embedded system platform was the Freescale MPC555/MPC565 processor and coding was in C. Software development cycles included all phases of DO-178B implementation and documentation.

Supervisory member of a development team for a PIC and Mitsubishi 16-bit microcontroller based life safety system. Performed all phases of hardware and firmware design of a telephony based data/voice receiver from conception to production. Design included extensive experience in telecommunications hardware/software including caller-ID hardware specification and firmware implementation, FCC part68 registered DAA hardware specification, modem chipsets, DTMF encoding/decoding, and telephone ring generation. Additionally, the product utilized both I2C and SPI synchronous serial communications, asynchronous serial communication, audio tone generation/amplification/detection, switching power supplies and battery backup.Performed all phases of hardware and firmware design of both the master bus controller and a secondary RS485 bus controller that handled communications with a wireless receiver communications bus.Developed standards for the production, revision tracking and storage of all schematic and PCB drawings produced with ACCEL EDA. Prepared and maintained schedules for firmware and hardware development.Traveled to customer installation sites in Texas, Maryland and Georgia in support of the first field installations of the product and worked with installers and end users in order to refine the product performance.

Responsibilities included integration of machine vision hardware and software with K&S models 1488 and 8020 wire bonder systems produced for the semiconductor assembly industry. Algorithm design, implementation, and testing were required as maintenance versions were released.Supported weekly update meetings with the K&S marketing department which required extensive interaction both with K&S subsystem group leaders and with K&S customers worldwide.Visited customer sites in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan to debug application software and provide support and training on the use of Kulicke and Soffa products for major industry players.

Developed and implemented an automated system to test the accuracy and repeatability of the vision system utilized by Kulicke and Soffa production wire bonders. This test bed reliably reported accuracy and repeatability to 1/10 of a pixel. The design included laser-based position feedback equipment and 2-axis stepper motor driven linear positioning stages.
