My name is Dan van Oss. I’m a third year PharmD candidate at UB and the president of the class of 2024. I’m interested in residency or fellowship opportunities in pharmaceutical industry after graduation. I first graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2015 with degrees in Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry. I went to work for ONY inc. as a production technician and learned from the ground level how pharmaceutical companies run. In 2016, I moved to Athenex Pharma Solutions as a Quality Control Analyst. I coordinated testing in the raw materials department for a few years before moving to the finished goods team where I facilitated testing of bulk product, finished goods, and stability drugs. I was able to design and implement a new viscosity test and participate in several internal and external audits. I decided to go back to school for Pharmacy in 2018 and enrolled at UB school of Pharmacy in fall 2020. I worked at Walgreens Pharmacy as a technician and an Intern, then moved to Roswell Park Cancer Institute as an Intern. Later I worked the ORISE summer internship at the FDA.
