Overseeing night time inspection of two projects, 53-177 and 53-186 between Exit 8 and 13 on Rte 2. Expected completion is early 2016.

Inspection of all:• Maintenance and Protection of Traffic• Slip form curb• HMA placement• Merritt Parkway Guide rail• Drainage installation• Historic Bridge restoration• Selective Tree Removal And mentoring young inspectors in the approved method of documenting construction activities and Site Manager Input. Approximately one half of the way through the project I was elevated to the position of night shift Chief Inspector due to the Assistant Resident being reassigned elsewhere. In my new capacity I was responsible for all assigned inspector duties and coordination with all of the contractor’s supervisory staff. CTDOT Project 151-274/151-309/151-310This work had been the outcome of a Prime Contractor defaulting on a major highway reconstruction project and emergency action taken by the CTDOT requiring STV to determine the work necessary to complete the project in order for the bonding company to produce the funds needed for said work. During STV’s due diligence it was found that the drainage installed on the project was deficient both in workmanship and quality of materials. I directly… Show more CTDOT Project 151-274/151-309/151-310This work had been the outcome of a Prime Contractor defaulting on a major highway reconstruction project and emergency action taken by the CTDOT requiring STV to determine the work necessary to complete the project in order for the bonding company to produce the funds needed for said work. During STV’s due diligence it was found that the drainage installed on the project was deficient both in workmanship and quality of materials. I directly supervised the video taping of each meter of drainage pipe previously installed on the project to determine exactly where the deficiencies were located. After all information was gathered STV’s design staff developed the plans and specifications for the repairs to take place. It was during this stage that I was responsible for:• The inspection new drainage structures;• Culvert installation to complete drainage systems previously left unfinished;• Lighting;• 3+ lanes of final milling and paving in each direction of the 2.3 mile project;• MBR removal and re-installation according to specification;• Environmental compliance and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic. CTDOT Project 83-216 Sikorsky Bridge Construction & Project 161-118/124 Route 7 ReconstructionAs a Senior Inspector I was responsible for assisting the Chief Inspector with the daily supervision of the inspection staff as well as the inspection of the final construction activities to complete the construction of the Bridge.
