Head of BNDES’ Corporate ESG Project – 2022 and 2021. The position involved prioritizing, planning and monitoring the execution of 100+ ESG initiatives (2021-2023 period) related to topics of strategy, risk management, financial products, training and communication, including interaction with senior management. Examples of initiatives include: a) drafting of the institution's first climate neutrality strategy; b) hiring and collaborating with partners to issue ESG’ rating; c) strengthening of socio-environmental risk measures in indirect credit operations (i.e. deforestation controls in new and ongoing contracts); d) implementation of disclosure guidelines and recommendations from GRI, TCFD, and Brazilian Central Bank; e) supervision of capacity building initiatives in sustainable finance and climate change.

Responsabilities included:- Structuring and purchase of infrastructure project bonds. Main tasks included deals origination, presentation of BNDES’ project bond policies to potential clients, analysis of project’s contracts, estimation of future cash flows, structuring of bond’s principal and interest payments, bond pricing and negotiation of bond’s indenture;- Structuring of credit-enhancing facility for project bonds. Work encompassed modelling main characteristics of facility, interfacing with credit agencies, researching investor interest and obtaining approval for product roll-out;- Structuring of fixed-income infrastructure funds. Work essentially encompassed defining main characteristics of funds, asset selection, modelling of senior, mezzanine and junior tranches as well as negotiation of fund’s documents;- Participation in discussion of public policies related to capital markets. Work involved the discussion of changes in federal laws with Ministry of Finance, standardization of bond indentures, improvement of BNDES’ financing policies and participation in several panels organized by credit agencies, investment banks, market integrators and multilateral banks;- Analysis and purchase of corporate bonds. Investments were focused on high grade, low yield corporate bonds in primary market;- Analysis of equity and convertible bond investments. These investments were focused both on privately and publicly held companies involved in mergers and acquisition transactions, IPO’s and private placements. Main tasks consisted of company valuation and negotiation of shareholders’ agreements.- Derivatives pricing. Activities involved pricing of exotic derivatives as well as embedded derivatives in convertible bonds, both for determining economic viability of new investments as well for accounting purposes (mark-to-market). Mainly used B&S, Binomial and Monte Carlo models;
