Responsible for managing a team of sales reps in the western United States and acting as the primary sales contact in territories where we have no representation. My role also includes acting as a North American media liaison, managing and planning event participation and global social media manager for the brand. My marketing role also includes managing the output of our digital agency partners to optimize traffic to the brand's B2C portal.

In this dual role, I cultivate leads, execute advertising pitches and negotiate advertising plans for brands advertising on the Gripped Publishing network. I am also responsible for new user acquisition and website growth through a variety of digital media, though with a strong focus towards social and Facebook in particular. Each of our sites has seen excellent growth over the past year, with some seeing 3 fold growth in Facebook impressions and total engagement points.

In my role as Digital and Social Media Marketer I was primarily responsible for acquiring new users via Hopper’s social media channels. As a team we acquired 1.5 million app downloads and increased our FB following from 30k to over 300k in under a year. Key to our success was the emphasis on measuring the efficiency of paid campaigns. My responsibilities included monitoring and establishing our KPIs, meeting objectives for levels of spend and ensuring we maintained our required conversion rates. My tasks at Hopper also involved community management of our social channels and content production for those channels.

In my position as a Content Analyst for Hopper.com I worked to create, copyedit and ensure the consistent quality of this website. This is done using database, critical analysis and problem solving skills to ensure that all content uploaded is relevant and workable given the restrictions of the ever evolving coding parameters of the website.

In the position of Communications and Sports Information Intern I was responsible for producing match day programs on strict deadlines, updating roster information, editing photos and drafting press releases. In this capacity I have also become familiar with editing programs such as InDesign and Pagemaker.

I was promoted to the position of Game Day Supervisor for both the varsity ice hockey and rugby teams. In this position I led a staff of 5 to 6 employees and was responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all hockey and rugby related matters before, during and after the games. My duties also included acting as a liaison between the two teams in the case of unforeseen events that disrupted normal game day operations. As the department began to integrate social media into its operations I became highly involved in the implementation of both Facebook and Twitter as tools to enhance the game day experience for McGill’s fans. During my time at McGill I have also had the opportunity to successfully use my French language skills in the workplace while communicating with primarily francophone teams that were visiting McGill.

I was hired as a Campus Representative at McGill University for the student travel company Beach Travellers. During my time at Beach Travellers I was responsible for independently launching grass roots marketing campaigns as well as planning longer term strategies for the growth of the company and its visibility on campus. This included a wide variety of tasks including the distribution of promotional materials, leading promotional teams and increasing the company’s social media footprint.

I held the position of Public Affairs and Economic Relations/ Trade Intern at the Canadian Consulate General in Detroit. My primary responsibilities included, conducting background research for the Head of Mission’s meetings, writing briefing memos that were distributed and read by other Canadian consulates in the United States and writing profiles of economic sectors highlighted as key targets by the Department. During my internship I was also required to attend meetings and functions with groups seeking to expand or launch their businesses in Canada

Worked as an Intern at the constituency office of New Democratic Party Member of Parliament Olivia Chow. My responsibilities included answering questions about immigration policy, liaising with local community organizations, answering correspondence, drafting letters and press releases and editing policy statements

I worked for a year and a half as a barista at various Starbucks locations in Toronto, Canada.
