Design Project Manager
Current• Responsible for the co-ordination, planning, project management and delivery of transport and Civil Engineering programmes of work to support the Council’s strategic transport objectives and LTP implementation plan including major / minor highways schemes, footways programmes car park maintenance, drainage and structures (circa £8-12m per annum).• Responsible for a team consisting of 2 no. Project Managers, 2 no. Assistant PM’s, 2 no. Design Engineers, 2 no. Assistant Design Technicians and 3 no. Site Supervisors with a department budget of £500k.• Responsible for producing design and construction programmes for the team and Contractor works• Monitoring and managing Capital budgets to ensure spend is in accordance with the Council’s Major Maintenance programme.• Setting up and presenting progress and financial reports to Governance Boards.• Maintain and monitor data concerning progress and expenditure, provide progress reports, financial reports and post completion reports to stakeholders at all levels as required.• Service Manager for the Highways & Transport Term Maintenance Contract.• Responsible for managing and administering NEC Contracts for both Professional Services and Engineering Contracts.• Coordinate the assembly of project documentation including design, specifications, feasibility reports, bills of quantities and contract documentation.• Preparing and evaluating tenders.• Responsible for seeking new work streams for the department and provide detailed quotations.• Contribute to risk assessments, method statements and construction phase plans with the maintenance project team. • Act as Principle Designer under the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.• Dealing with enquiries from members of the public and elected members.• Coordinate and manage public consultation and public relations concerning projects.• Senior Decision Maker for Winter Maintenance.
