Responsible for managing the Corporate Accounting team, EMEA controllership team, Functional Control team and SEC external reporting team.-Lead a team of six direct reports and fifty indirect reports that is responsible for the three-day accounting close and consolidation process, SEC reporting, legal entity accounting and statutory reporting in EMEA and North America, accounting for software-related initiatives and management of various accounting projects.-Managed the migration of legal entity accounting and operations to a team of ten in the Philippines improving efficiencies while providing cost savings to the Corporation.-Initiated the implementation of the Workiva software solution for the preparation and filing of documents with the SEC, data collection in support of SEC and other regulatory filings, and preparation of Audit Committee materials.-Enhanced the quarterly earnings release format by improving the flow of the document and creating additional comparative financial tables.-Created a new quarterly Audit Committee presentation to review results and accounting disclosure matters.-Integral team member in the implementation of a quantitative model and qualitative adjustment methodology for the allowance for credit losses.-Voting member on the Corporation's Disclosure Committee and Loan Loss Reserve Committee, and Treasurer of The Northern Trust International Banking Corporation.

Responsible for managing the Technical Accounting and Policy team as well as the External Reporting team for Motorola Mobility, Inc. Motorola Mobility, Inc. was a $12 billion revenue company comprised of the Mobile Devices and Home businesses that spun from Motorola, Inc. in January of 2010. Motorola Mobility, Inc. was acquired by Google in May of 2012.• Managed the filing of the required registration Form 10 and updates and the initial Form 10-K which were all done on a carve-out basis.• Managed the filing of subsequent Form 10-Qs and 10-K on a stand-alone basis including XBRL tagging. • Served as Chair of the Finance Policy Committee which was responsible for approving and communicating all finance policies and all other policies that could have a financial impact.• Participated in all reserve, legal, restructuring, and disclosure reviews to ensure proper and consistent accounting judgment was being applied.• Prepared and provided monthly finance training sessions on accounting policies and new accounting standards for Motorola Mobility. These sessions were NASBA certified to provide CPE credits to participants.

Responsible for managing corporate and in-business technical accounting matters including the final review and approval of the accounting for significant and complex revenue generating arrangements across Motorola. • Defined and implemented new, company-wide revenue recognition standards for multiple element arrangements and the scoping of software arrangements. Received the CFO Excellence award in May, 2010 in recognition of the success of this project.• Created, implemented and provided a monthly company-wide finance and accounting training session on Motorola accounting policies new and emerging accounting trends and standards.• Assisted external reporting with the adoption and disclosure of new accounting standards in the external financial statements.• Regularly provided technical accounting guidance on accounting matters related to the treasury, restructuring, facilities, and other corporate-related matters.• Managed the design and implementation of a new pre-contract review process which provides revenue recognition guidance on bids and proposals to ensure the optimal structuring of contracts from a revenue recognition basis.• Redesigned the template used for documenting revenue transactions and implemented a revised approval matrix to best capture the risks associated with the businesses.• Participated in quarterly large project and balance sheet reviews internationally as a technical accounting resource, providing guidance on revenue recognition issues as well as general accounting matters. Performed financial due diligence and served as the technical accounting resource on business development opportunities including acquisitions and commercial deals. • Integral team member related to the $2 billion acquisition of Mayne Pharma Limited and the $20 million acquisition of BresaGen Limited (both Australian public companies). Responsibilities included technical accounting due diligence, managing the third party valuation, overseeing the purchase accounting and the conversion of financial reporting from IFRS to US GAAP.• Received the Hospira Excellence in Finance award for work related to the Mayne Pharma acquisition.• Prepared technical accounting memos (position papers) for external auditors and internal records related to all business development activities including acquisitions, dispositions, sale lease back transactions, and commercial development transactions.• Updated the Business Development Handbook and the Due Diligence Policy Manual.
