Daniel Watt is the Executive Vice President- Director of Mortgage and Consumer Lending for Mechanics Bank. As the leader of Mortgage and Consumer Lending, he is responsible for oversight, leadership and management of teams of mortgage professionals in sales, fulfillment, credit, underwriting, products, programs, pricing, Capital Markets, Secondary, Lock Desk, pool purchases, portfolio management, and related businesses and supporting functions. In this capacity, Daniel serves on the Mechanics Bank Operating, Asset-Liability and Credit Committees. Daniel joined Mechanics Bank in 2023 from Flagstar Bank, where he served as Regional First Vice President of the company’s Western Coast Region, building a team of eight branches and approximately 60 associates, as one of the top performing and growing Regions in the country. Prior to joining Flagstar, he spent 16 years with Bank of America, where he was SVP- Sr. Area Lending Manager for Northern California, where he led a team of Wealth Management, Self-Sourced, Community and Bank Branch Lending associates, as well as Sales Operations, Fulfillment and Underwriting during his tenure with the bank. He also held various Enterprise leadership roles such as Co-Chair, as well as Senior Advisor, for the San Francisco/East Bay Associate Talent Council, as well as was chosen to be a part of various councils for Executive Leadership and the Vice-Chairman of the bank. Prior to joining Bank of America, Daniel was one of the top performing originators at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage (WFHM), where he funded over $140MM in his last full year of production with WFHM in 2005, achieving #2 in the Bay Area and #12 in the nation in total volume funded. Daniel began his career and served in a variety of Financial Institution and Independent Contractor Compliance roles in sales, operations, project management and underwriting capacities. Daniel is a member of the Consumer Bankers Association (CBA) Home Equity Committee. Daniel also serves on non-profit boards, such as The Bay Church, as well as The Bay Compassion, where he currently serves as Secretary for The Bay Church, as well as previously serving in other roles such as Treasurer, as well as currently serves as Treasurer for The Bay Compassion. Daniel is a graduate of California State University, Hayward, where he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance.
