Youth Justice Worker

I have been working as a Youth Justice Worker at Wokingham Youth Offending Service (YOS) since October 2012. My current role primarily entails the assessment and effective supervision of young people who are involved in the criminal justice system. I have extensive experience of working with young people who are at risk of involving themselves in offending behaviour and identifying and implementing processes to support young people and their families in order to reduce their risks of engaging in such behaviour. Additional responsibilities• ASSET Plus Service lead – delivery of training and continuous support for colleagues as well as quality assurance• Court Service lead – Attendance at Court user group, organisation of Court duty rota, primary Court Officer• Have previously assumed operational management of YOS whilst YOS manager is on prolonged periods of leave. • Chairing of Team Meetings and YOS risk management panel during manager’s period of leave• Delivered training on substance misuse to Magistrates and colleagues among the Early Help Service• Experience of presenting YOS management reports to senior management at CSP• As most experienced Youth Justice Worker, I am frequently asked for support, advice and information from my colleagues on an operational level day to day.
