In this context, I was a member of the Civil Society Steering Group for the Joint Africa-Europe Strategy (JAES), the formal body coordinating the partnership between the EU and the AU.

Kenia

As freelance project manager, I was responsible for implementing a 6-months peacebuilding and PVE project in coastal Kenya together with a local NGO to address the threat of violent extremism and strengthen local understanding of violence & radicalisation in ungoverned spaces. The project was part of the Africa Cross Border Messaging Programme financed by the U.S. Department of State and is embedded in the African Union's iDove - Interfaith Dialogue on Violent Extremism Project, which brings together young people from Africa and Europe to prevent violent extremism and build up more peaceful societies.

I was in charge of GPI's Peace and Security Programme, where I coordinated the development and implementation of a number of projects focussing on the Peace and Security nexus on the African continent. More specifically, my tasks included: - Managing projects throughout the Project Management Cycle, from needs assessment, conceptualisation, and fundraising to project implementation, evaluation, reporting and closure- Communicating with donors and other stakeholders relevant to the projects- Liaising with project implementation partners, government representatives and humanitarian organisations- Coordination the development of policy papers and other advocacy publications

I was responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the largest anti-corruption programme in Malawi (GBP 7,6 million), which is DFID-funded and supports good governance and the rule of law in the country. My main tasks included: - Coordinating and administering the programme of work on the ground to ensuring high-quality outputs and the greatest possible impact of project activities in order to advance the anti-corruption agenda in what was an election year in Malawi- Leading the technical work on the development of Malawi's new National Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2019-2024, in close coordination with the Anti-Corruption Bureau and other key actors in government and civil society- Developing and implementing Malawi’s first long-term investigative journalism initiative (Continuing Journalistic Education – CJE) to improve responsible reporting on corruption and support the work of watchdog organisations in the anti-corruption sector- Managing the programme’s relationship with DfID Malawi - Overseeing all local financial administration requirements of the programme- Collecting all required information to conducting adequate qualitative and quantitative monitoring and evaluation of the programme’s impact- Drafting all relevant operational and other project reports as required in the context of the programme
