As part of my Master’s degree I undertook a three month voluntary research placement at Public Health England. This formed my dissertation on “Antimicrobial resistance typing for Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli using whole genome sequencing data and further bioinformatics applications.” This Master's project/dissertation formed part of the process for the validation of utilising genotypic data from whole genome sequencing to infer the phenotypic antimicrobial resistance profiles of clinically isolated Campylobacter species.

This was a voluntary placement in which I helped and aided in current research. I had many different projects throughout my placement and co-supervised 4 different Erasmus students as well as a summer placement student.
