Daniel Whitby is the Director and principal ecologist for AEWC Ltd (Animal Ecology and Wildlife Consultants), a consultancy specialising in rare and protected species surveys, and founder of the Charity Bat Conservation and Research Unit (BatCRU) a charity dedicated to the research and conservation of bats. Nobody is good at everything, as much as you may be an expert in your own specialism, ecology is a wide ranging subject and we cannot know it all. I am fortunate enough to have been trained by some UK experts in their field and surrounded by a team of various specialists, consultants and researchers covering a multitude of specialisms to enable us to successfully complete our organisations projects and goals.With over 15 years working as a consultant and research ecologist I have experience successfully managing a varying multitude of projects for both development and research, often with important time constraints for development submissions, or financial constraints with research projects. I have worked with a range of protected species including all 6 class licenses for bats and a Natural England trainer as well as project licences for all advanced survey methods.
