I worked here doing general haulage as a 26tonne moffatt tramper driver. This was a brilliant experience to really see the country and meet new people on my travels as there's not too many places in England I haven't been. My driving really improved as this was a brilliant experience when it came to something and somewhere new every day especially sleeping out in the lorry and using a moffatt or my continuous change in different loads. My start times would alter daily from being up as early as midnight to the total opposite and I'm always keen to do above and beyond and help however I can. I'm keen for over time and I'm not shy of a long days work. I also like to take pride in my vehicle keeping it clean and looking smart and well presented at all times. I keep busy when available and typically polish the tanks and exhaust, wheels and such and just keep ontop of the vehicle and check and plan on route onwards. I'm a trucker with pride.

Sequence work meant I was working to a tight deadline as I would have a short time requirement for the parts to be ready to be on track for fitting. I would also do out of scope deliveries to partner companies across the country.

During the Corona virus outbreak in 2020, I volunteered to be part of project genesis with DHL. I felt I had the ability to help with the pandemic and a way of helping save lives

I was a first line manager on the warehouse floor for the cabins section. My duties here would involve me guiding a group of 15, giving instructions and directions to complete their day to day tasks to receive the best results possible and offer any assistance if required. I would have to monitor the all results and provide them to the operations manager. I used to do two GEMBA walks a week to try and find improvements to job duties to try and make everything as easy and as simple as possible.

For my first two years at DHL I was a warehouse operative, throughout my two years I moved between many sections of the warehouse and even into jaguar land rover temporarily. I had worked for inbound, outbound, build to order, on the reach, counterbalance, long forks and PPTs, as a picker, replenishment driver, van driver and also on the stock team.

I was offered handover duties meaning I had managerial control over the shop floor when managers where off on other duties. This meant I was capable of working as a team leader and making sure tasks were complete upon a deadline and customer service was kept at best. Alongside this roll it also meant I was with permissions to offer assistance at the till such as; refunds, discounts and other verifications to help assist my team when they required it. I feel that customer service above everything else is one of the best things you can do. It is better to truthfully help a customer with what they require and get a small sale then to lie to try bringing in one big sale. Keeping honest and trying to provide the best service will bring customers back where as playing games will lose customers and eventually money.

I went to work at Maplin Electronics while studying at Solihull College. Originally just a part time employee, after finishing my education with distinction grade I moved into full time employment for Maplin. As a simple sales advisor to start, I was set to work on shop floor and warehouse. There were a lot of responsibilities required from us all. It was necessary for us all to work as a team to achieve all our goals for the day. With KPI challenges set daily, it required a true team effort to manage and complete our tasks. I was in charge of delivery orders, meaning we’d do three weekly floor gap checks, finding out what stock is required for order, seeing what has gone missing and overall making sure everything is in order adding and removing items from our database as necessary to provide the best customer support possible. As well as delivery orders, I had a few other tasks such as general restock of the store replenished meaning all stock was accessible to our customers and also offering the best assistance possible giving assistance to those who required it.

As an IT Technician I had to ensures that clients computer systems work effectively for streamlined operations. I would install computer hardware and software, update applications and perform diagnostic tests and maintenance on computer components. I'd also set up internal and external computer networks to ensure that servers can deliver information to internal and external clients and resolve network, hardware and software issues and set up firewalls to safeguard IT systems.
