About Daniel Wickes
I’m a nerd. As a strong math student with an interest in problem solving, the Java classes I took in high school came easy to me. I liked coding because I knew it was something I could do that would allow me to be part of the future and have a little personal freedom while doing it. iOS development allows me to do all of these things, allowing me to self publish my own applications, get as close to memory as I like with a superset of C, and potentially be part of the early adoption of Swift. I went to NYU Poly with the intention of becoming a programmer, and then chose to supplement my skills by attending the Flatiron School. While attending the latter, I have worked in teams (on which I have been the most experienced developer) on the apps Timesurfer and Traveler, both of which can be found on my GitHub link. In addition, I have contributed to the open source community in the form of an Xcode plugin, HTYCopyIssue, which formats users issues into a web searchable format, and will perform the Google or Stack Overflow search by choosing a button within a contextual menu.
