Marcon is a main contractor where I was programme managing healthcare, education and roofing refurbishment projects across the UK.I liaised extensively with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors to ensure that projects are delivered within time and cost constraints and to the agreed safety and quality standards.I was also responsible for managing RFIs and I am fully accountable for health and safety through the lifecycle of every project. I handle change requests and assisting in resolving contractual issues. During this period I worked for a construction company specialising in external and facade works. Allard Construction work for tier 1 main contractors as well as act as a main contractor on numerous projects across the Country. Projects are typically valued between £200k - £4.5million. I liaise extensively with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors to ensure that projects are delivered within time and cost constraints and to the agreed safety and quality standards. All of which I am fully accountable for.I am responsible for managing all aspects of the projects including RFI’s, variations, health and safety, contractural issues and cost management throughout the project duration.Key achievements so far in this position include:- Successfully handing over completed projects to satisfied clients on time and within budget, meeting and exceeding their expectations for quality- Receiving positive feedback from clients.- Being a part of the Allard team completing four projects to date.

Negotiating and managing project costs, producing construction programmes and writing progress reports are also part of my remit. Key achievements in this position include:- Successfully handing over completed projects to satisfied clients on time and within budget, meeting and exceeding their expectations for quality- Receiving positive feedback from a key client, who was pleased that the job was handed over on schedule and to a high quality despite them adding on extras to the original scope- Being a part of the Phelans team completing five projects during my time at the company.

During this time I ran my own roofing and construction business, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of projects for local builders and local homeowners. I employed two Operatives and ensured compliance with health and safety regulations. I secured all new business, liaised with clients and drove project delivery in line with their expectations. I was additionally responsible for providing cost estimates, ensuring completion within budget and chasing overdue payments. Key achievements in this position include:- Successfully transitioning into a management role with full responsibility on site- Delivering all projects on time, within budget and to a high-quality standard - Completing a degree at the same time as running the business

This role moved me away from hands-on roofing to a more managerial position. It involved liaising with clients across the UK to ensure they received excellent service, as well as providing estimates for new job enquiries and ensuring timely, cost-effective completion.In this position I led eight teams of between two and five Roofing Operatives, with responsibility for their welfare. Key achievements in this position include:- Improving project management and client relations.

This was a hands-on role, during which I installed pitched roof coverings, flashings and single ply membranes on projects including care homes, hotels and refurbishments.
