As a Senior in the department since its inception, I have been responsible for helping set up infrastructure and working practices, the recruiting, training and mentoring of staff, as well as supporting the office and colleagues by Quality Assurance Reviews (QAR) and providing steer on cases prior to their submission to the relevant constabulary. I have taken a leading position in ensuring the competency of junior staff to ensure that not only our own internal policies and procedures are maintained, but that the Principles of the ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) are upheld as well as the new ISO 17025 standards for forensic laboratories. I am required to check that the case management system is correctly and effectively used by all staff ensuring that every case attains technical and timely excellence to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. I produce witness statements and streamlined forensics reports in relation to digital evidence obtained via Police Hi-Tech Crime Units. Mainly focusing on Prosecution work, I have undertaken research and investigations to produce extensive reports on a wide range of cases including, but not limited to; Fraud, Assault, Stalking, Human trafficking, Terrorism, IP theft, as well as Sexual Offenses. When requested, I present my produced reports/evidence at Court, and am therefore experienced and capable at presenting to groups of people in order to impart technical knowledge, information and evidence whilst ensuring the understanding of potentially complex and technical data to a wide variety of stakeholders.

As a member of the Performance Management Team, I ensured that the tasks in relation to ‘Unsatisfactory Attendance’ were completed accurately and in a timely manner, in line with set service level agreements. I utilised Oracle databases to accomplish; the issuing and transacting of warning packs to line managers, maintaining up to date employee information by way of daily system reports and updates, the production of information in relation to Subject Access Requests (SAR’s) in line with GDPR, as well as the answering of queries in relation to system held information and company policy. I was required to produce weekly and monthly MI reports regarding the details of outstanding warning triggers and the levels or warnings being issued or non-issued by the various establishments.

As an analyst on the Legal & General mortgage club team, I identified and accurately processed lender payments to ensure the timely allocation and payment of commission. I routinely maintained vast spread sheets of lender and agent details as well as manipulated and analysed data utilising Microsoft Excel and Access to progress cases that had been incorrectly submitted. I identified and reviewed issues surrounding suspicious claims in order to escalate potentially fraudulent claims to the debt recovery teams.

As a computer forensic expert witness, I was responsible for the undertaking of criminal defence work on the instruction from solicitors, producing section 9 witness statements in relation to digital evidence and if required, the providing of testimony at Court. I undertook research, investigation, and the production of extensive reports based on investigation of digital evidence that was obtained via Hi-Tech Crime units. I liaised with Police officers and undertook the signing of memorandums for the protection of the provided data; as well as ensuring that not only our own internal policies and procedures maintained, but that the principles of the ACPO are upheld. As the manager of the department, I also oversaw; team members caseloads, production and maintenance of internal policies and procedures; raising invoices; maintaining equipment stock levels; budgeting; and producing management information reports such as department income and expenditure for the managing directors’ review.
