Careers Ambassadors are key to the success and growth of the Careers department, enabling students to access services that help them get the career they want, or didn’t even know they wanted! We are a diverse team from a range of disciplines, year groups and backgrounds. I will help promote careers via a Careers ‘outreach tour’ stand and providing information to students on our services. I will also help with events assistance at major careers events such as career fairs, celebration events and talks. Finally I will be running calling campaigns to current students to encourage them to use our services.

As a STaR Mentor, I have many responsibilities; Firstly it is my job to welcome new students into university life, making sure they settle in comfortably. This can take many shapes and sizes, such as sending out reminders for upcoming events, sending out weekly updates/ checks and setting up meetings with mentees when requested.

My internship at Rolabotic Ltd provided me with one of my greatest learning experiences to date. It was here that I was truly exposed to the corporate world and consulting industry. Whilst interning I honed and learned many valuable skills which I will carry for the rest of my life. These skills ranged from research & analysis, communication, organisation, time management and MS OFFICE.Whilst at Rolabotic I had the pleasure of creating and conducting presentations, a skill I undervalued until my time here. Likewise, I learned how to effectively communicate and convey my ideas via writing, mainly through the tasks of writing whitepapers. Finally, my appetite to learn more about the technology sector was fulfilled, specifically, being exposed to automation tools and projects.

I specialised in teaching GCSE Mathematics to students whilst in sixth form.
