This period has seen a significant increase in AUM following the takeover of Rowan Dartington by St James's Place.This has required development of the team, proposition and systems and processes.

The Bristol Discretionary Team evolved into Central Investments with the launch of a new solution for IFAs.This saw rapid growth of the team and the introduction of a dedicated Client Services function.My management responsibilities increased significantly during this period - in addition to managing the growth of the team I was also a Director of the Regulated Board as well as a member of the Asset Allocation and Investment committees. As a result of these responsibilities I largely stepped back from day-to-day client relationship and portfolio management responsibilities.

I established a new team within the business delivering Discretionary solutions to Private Clients.This was very much a traditional approach at the time, with individual Investment Managers responsible for most aspects of the function (business development, client relationship, research, investment strategy and portfolio management).With the use of the Portfolio Management System I developed we were able to introduce a new approach for delivering the portfolio management function. This enabled us to maintain the flexibility of a traditional discretionary solution whilst operating more efficiently - delivering more timely and consistent decision making across the client base.

This period was very much focused on developing my experience as an Investment Manager. My arrival at Rowan Dartington coincided with the start of the Global Financial Crisis and the years that followed were pivotal in developing my client relationship skills and appreciation for their importance in the role.It was during this period that I developed my own Portfolio Management software solution for my own use. This proved successful and over time I rolled this out across the business as a standard tool, for which I was responsible for design, development, testing and maintenance.

This was my first role in Financial Services and was foundational in providing experience in Operations Processing, Line Management, Client Relationship Management and Investment Management.My roles evolved from Operations Assistant, through Operations Manager and into Investment Manager.During this time I started developing my own technology solutions to help with aspects of each of my roles.
