I’m honoured to be the regional East of England volunteer as well as local leader for Ipswich. Run Talk Run is a mental health support group first and a running club second. Whether you want to feel heard, be there to listen to others, or just have some friendly company whilst you exercise, Run Talk Run is an inclusive, welcoming and safe space, with support at the forefront. Run Talk Run is a free weekly 5km jog for ALL abilities and a confidential space to share your good days, your bad days, or anything in-between. Mental health is a cause I love, and I have been passionate about helping others since I started my own recovery. In the past I have supported campaigns like Movember, Miles for Mind, Lost Hours Calm Walk, all of which have a common theme; movement. Every Wednesday I “GIVE” my time to host Run Talk Run Ipswich where I “CONNECT” with 11 other strangers and we “GET ACTIVE” running 5KM as a group at the pace of the slowest runner.

Following a recent successful promotion I am now the Technical Consultant/Platform Lead in NETS (Network Engineering Technical Services) for the ISP Control Plane domain within TSO networks. Working alongside my lead Technical Consultant peers, reporting to the Principal Engineer (Unit Lead) providing technical management and continuously improving the way broadband, and IP&Data products and services are delivered.------------ In TSO, After successful promotion I am now part of the elite Network Engineering Technology Services (NETS) Specialist (3rd Line Support) within the IP and Mobility sector of the "Networks" area. I support the ISP Platform which is BT Consumer/Business Broadband, EE Broadband primarily on Control Plane/Systems devices, giving secondary support on Network equipment also.Maintaining Procera, Arbor, Oracle, Radius, NetApp on a callout basis for BT Consumer and BT Business Broadband Platform, and Harlequins Broadband Platform. Performing standard, and emergency change on all hardware within the Broadband Out of Hours change window. Updates to follow...

Within TSO I worked on the main IP and Data NOC covering the ISP Platform which is BT WiFi, BT Retail Broadband, EE Broadband on a 24x7x365 basis.I Started out as an apprentice on a day based support role, I graduated onto shift July 2013 to Platform and Service monitoring for BT WiFi, the moving onto BT Retail ISP (RAN/RSN) in March 2014, and eventually helping management merge the team October 2014.I have also successfully transitioned location for this job, moving myself from Sheffield to Suffolk, when the business decision was to move the BT WiFi Platform from TSO CSOC to TSO NOC. Throughout the transition period I helped maintain service levels for WiFi and supported the new team to be in a position to go live with the monitoring of the BT WiFi platform.Throughout this role I have been a lead and figure head in the development of skills and platforms into the operational team, utilising new and existing skills learnt on Arbor and Procera DPI’s/Cisco ASR9K’s/Cisco Nexus/Cisco LNS ASR1K’s, Cisco PAR, Cisco ACE, ISG/SESM Technologies, Alcatel 7750’s, RADIUS and DNS, IT Applications; BRM, NGNP, sharing this with the team on the dedicated OneNote. As well as providing diagnostics on the above, I also engage relevant internal support team’s in-hours or out-of-hours (3rd Line), co-oping with data centre specialist engineers, co-oping and liaising with vendor’s primarily Cisco, Arbor, Procera, and Symantec, sending regular detailed updates to the business, and completing RCA and PIR.

An award winning 3 year higher learning pathway resulting in a Fd Sc in ICT for business and level 4 BTEC Dip. in professional competence for ICT and telecoms professionals. Recognised qualifications that when combined with varied service operations/ management and service transition experience also achieve ICT Tech status from the Institute of telecommunication professionals (ITP)Further development activities have included; - Regular volunteering within the community, including schools, sports clubs and other industries. - The active promotion of apprenticeships through presentations and Q&A with prospective students and business leaders.- Covering managerial positions during periods of leave- Regular interaction with the ITP including writing blogs for the ITP magazine and BT publications including their Facebook page and internal apprentice network site- Becoming a STEM Ambassador, encouraging people to embark upon learning and careers within science, technology and engineering
