Responsible for the operations of a production group including staff development, technical quality, schedule, project staff coordination, client communications, as well as laboratory and field operations.Direct and coordinate a staff of field and laboratory technicians in the testing of a wide variety of materials to determine their physical properties for construction projects and specifications.Monitor testing activity to ensure that tests and observations are properly performed, samples and test results are properly logged, technicians are receiving proper training and certifications, monitoring technician attendance; and coordinating and reporting to the Department Manager the status of the laboratory and the laboratory requirements as well as results sent out to clients.Experience with lab operations for construction material testing in accordance with ASTM standards. Worked with a team of 4 students to redesign the potable water supply to the Bastrop power plant to save the company 14.4 million gallons of water and $40,000 annually. My team was given a $70,000 project budget and designed the system for $36000 turnkey. Deliverables included a 3 design options for an updated potable water supply system in Solidworks, analysis of each design including head loss calculations and potable water standards. After selecting a bypass pump and bladder tank design, the team budgeted entire assembly of project and sourced out pump, piping, and bladder tank that would meet the design needs. After design assembly, analysis was done by observation of flow meters within the plant and pressure drops in the system to ensure the product was functioning properly. During the project, I was in charge of the initial 3 designs as well as sourcing and pricing the correct materials for the final design.
