Designed components and created mechanical drawings for an HSFL satellite using SolidWorks. Machined flight hardware from aluminum using a vertical end mill and other equipment. Designed, built and tested the following flight hardware: vented battery enclosure capable of releasing gas but containing liquid from broken cells, release mechanism for a flexible spring-steel external antenna, structural enclosures containing electronic components and hardware. Built scale model of satellite used to perform antenna interference pattern testing. Created adapters to mount flight hardware on ADCS test bed and vibration table.

Intern in the Aeromechanics Branch at NASA Ames Research Center. My research utilized NASA Design and Analysis of Rotorcraft (NDARC) software to size and test conceptual tilt rotor aircraft for use in large scale civilian transportation. I turned these results into 3D computer models to help visualize this concept. My team was the recipient of the 2012 NASA Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate Associate Administrator Award under the category "High Potentials - Group".
