About Daniel Xu

In the Spring of 2020, I graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. I am passionate about creating cool electronics projects, as well as the avenues for sustainability that can be opened through working with electric power.I recently interned at Philips to optimize medical ventilator response to changes in patient breathing patterns. By performing design verification of digital signal processor units in ventilator CPUs, I isolated problematic respiration waveforms and worked to reduce response lag by updating control circuits.In addition to hands-on and theoretical circuit design experience, I am also familiar with micro-controller programming using C++, Python, and a variety of communication protocols. I have used my knowledge of analog electric components, circuit analysis software, and MATLAB programming in combination to make an electrical guitar, autonomous glass-polishing robot, and many other classroom and personal projects.Outside of engineering studies, I spend my free time shooting with the Trojan Archery team, playing the piano, and reading Pitchfork magazine's unabashedly pretentious music reviews.Some of my key skills are...Verilog, VHDL, Xilinx FPGA, ASIC verification, PCB design, VLSI design, Linux, C++, Python, Java, Mathematica, MATLAB, Arduino, IPv6, AutoCAD, Computer architecture, LTspice, PSpice, Fritzing, Cadence Virtuoso, EAGLE, Analog circuits design, Unix, MOSFETs
