As a QA Supervisor, I was responsible for monitoring the quality of several programs being provided to Injured Workers in BC. This involved liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and working closely with the Program Managers to oversee existing contracts as well as develop new programs, in an aim to meet the complex and changing needs of Injured Workers in BC. My portfolio comprised of programs in mental health and addictions.

FunctionAbility Rehabilitation Services is an award winning, accredited, multidisciplinary rehabilitation practice that provides expert assessment and treatment services throughout Ontario to persons with traumatic and acquired neurological injuries, mental health diagnoses and orthopedic injuries. Our services focus on helping our clients regain function, independence and dignity.My role at FunctionAbility involved:- Liaising with insurer and legal representative to ensure appropriate assessments and documents are completed on behalf of the injured client (i.e. Attendant Care Needs, Disability Certificate, Housekeeping, etc.).- Providing in-home and in-hospital assessment to support safe discharge and treatment planning.- Treatment (in the home and community) to address equipment needs, cognitive and physical rehabilitation as well as psychosocial rehabilitation. - Monitoring client’s needs over an extended period, with a focus on reintegration into meaningful normal life activities.- Collaborating with family members, employers, and school(s) to discuss reintegration.- Case management services, overseeing a team of professionals. This involved service coordination from an early stage (inpatient hospital to rehab and community-based settings), acting as a team leader and a supportive liaison between clients and their rehabilitation, medical and community providers.- Mentorship to new staff, overseeing yoga therapist and rehabilitation assistants' plans, and providing education at staff meetings and professional development.

South Community Health Centre, Vancouver, Canada Area

OT role: Provide assessment and treatment aimed to address the needs of adults and older adults experiencing functional impairment secondary to acute health condition(s) and/or chronic disease processes. This involved equipment prescription, home safety and accessibility, cognitive compensatory training, psychosocial reintegration and physical symptom management. Palliative care and dysphagia support was also provided, alongside an interdiscplinary team.
