I am a Neuroscience and Translational Medicine MSc graduate with practical lab skills in molecular biology intending to progress into the neuropharmacology and biotechnology fields, investigating therapeutic targets and drug development. My main area of interest is neurodegeneration, although immunology, inflammation and gene/stem cell therapies are related fields that I am keen on pursuing, as I value a multi- and interdisciplinary approach. As I genuinely enjoy working in a wet laboratory setting, I will be bringing commitment to the project I am working on, to its development and its quality.I am eager to learn and grow, constantly improving and developing my knowledge and expertise, striking for excellence and efficiency.Through my previous role as a SEN teaching assistant, I established deep connections with individuals with various neurological conditions, and therefore gained further motivation to seek a career in research. Having experienced the human side of science, I understand the potential impact of translational research on human lives and I aim to optimise valuable treatments and produce relevant findings with my work. I profoundly value the 3Rs principles, aiming to actively pursue them and bring a significant contribution to the approach via selectively engaging in research employing in vitro models, human tissue and replacement biotechnologies. Moreover, I wish to expand my expertise to the fields of bioinformatics and in silico models. My dedication to work throughout my studies shows a great sense of responsibility as well as excellent abilities to multitask and time manage. I am a highly proactive fast learner with a bright and enthusiastic personality paired with a malleable intelligence. I am naturally efficient at organising, coordinating, problem-solving, and work effectively both in a team and independently.I represent a high-value addition to a team with my practical yet empathic mindset, bringing remarkable laboratory, academic, and transferable skills.
