I am a Research Assistant in Robert Sternberg’s Intelligence, Creativity, and Wisdom Lab. Right now, I am working on a study involving the development of a maximum performance measure of general wisdom, and an analysis of its relation to a maximum performance measure of scientific wisdom and creativity. I also attend lab meetings, where I make comments and contributions for current papers the lab puts out, and assist in revisions, both conceptual and formatting-based.

I coordinate communication between my principal investigator, 8 graduate students, and 10+ undergraduate RAs to ensure smooth functioning of lab. I also organize materials for lab policies, RA responsibilities, and IRBs, while ensuring that RAs are enrolled in correct courses.

I conduct research on the intersection of behavior, perception, and implicit attitudes within interactions and impressions. I perform roles such as script reader, confederate researcher, and audio-video monitor, as well as provide meticulous feedback to lead researchers that improves study design and data collection systems. I also contribute to weekly lab meetings to deepen understanding of psychological concepts and research processes, and I have helped to develop multiple studies through pilot phases, such as ones on the Involuntary Excluder Effect and the Vicarious Spotlight Effect.

I co-facilitate dialogue sessions of 13 undergraduates, leading 3-hour discussions on social identity and power. I apply diversity, equity, and inclusion principles to foster an inclusive environment and support all group members, and do my best to mentor students by providing a space to explore topics related to inequality, discrimination, and systemic privilege. In addition, I coach students in initiating and navigating complex conversations in their personal lives, offering strategies for productive dialogue.

I advise upwards of 300 students in Research Methods in Human Development (HD2830) and Blazing Your Trail in Human Ecology (HE1800). I facilitate small group discussions (4-8 students) to offer more tailored support and mentorship for in-class projects, as well as assist the instructor with technology, communication, and classroom management to enhance students’ learning experience.

I worked on several projects related to creativity in le Laboratoire de Psychologie et d’Ergonomie Appliquées at Université Paris Cité. I administered an in-person study to about 100+ students on creative problem solving, then digitized the data collected. I also coded 150+ graphical data sets for their creativity and originality, while looking at the change from before and after playing a creative board game. I got to analyze 500 data points from the OECD for their creativity, with the end goal of the data analysis being a comparison of creativity between countries. I developed a collaborative creativity VR project by assessing and testing 25+ VR platforms, as well as performed literature reviews on topics such as social robots and the relationship between ChatGPT and creativity.

I facilitated team-building activities at the Hoffman Challenge Course and worked with the team to develop customized programs that best support diverse groups from high schools, colleges, and workplaces. I completed belay certification for safety on the climbing wall, as well as high and low elements. I ensured safety was a top priority and that participants were comfortable every step of the way. I aided in facilitating debriefing sessions to help participants reflect on their experiences with the goal of improving future communication between groups.

I responded to help tickets across campus, and communicated efficiently with professors to fix problems. I also troubleshooted technical problems and found solutions to time-sensitive issues. I worked to install new systems for technical operations across campus, and I helped to organize both the physical and virtual storage systems for better efficiency.

I worked on a scoping literature review on behavioral coding for preschool-aged children with a graduate student in the Department of Applied Psychology. I used Rayyan to sort and analyze articles for necessary inclusion criteria, and I learned about the process of reviewing articles for use in scientific papers.

As part of a program developed in the Speech, Language and Hearing Center, I worked with graduate students in the School Psychology and ABA Programs in a targeted summer program to help children grades 2-6 catch up to grade level in math. I used techniques such as direct instruction and corrective math, and I created a safe and productive learning environment. I taught in smaller groups to better cater to my students’ individual needs, and I ensured their learning was effective and fun.

I taught children dance, provided additional individualized support to children when the teacher could not, and filled in as the main teacher when necessary. I also choreographed dances and organized activities for mental and physical stimulation.
