I am a OCT candidate, currently studying at Niagara University in Ontario. I have always felt a deep-seated pull toward working with children, which has been driven by my passion to help foster children’s development, and help them reach their full potential. While obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from York University, I developed an understanding of the developmental stages that occur throughout one’s life, as well as the cognitive processes that take place when learning occurs. My core teaching philosophy is based on the principle of individual instruction. Through my work at Scholars Tutoring Centre, and my position as camp supervisor with the City of Vaughan, I have come to recognize how each child has a unique set of needs. I am strongly motivated to tailor my lessons, and assessments to meet the learning needs of the students in my classroom. By utilizing differentiated instruction techniques and providing students with one-on-one support, I believe that all students will be able to reach their full potential, both as an academic and a person. In my personal time, I enjoy participating in a range of activities. I have had a passion for dance since a young age. Dance allows me to stay active, and has endless benefits for my mental health, as it allows me to decompress and relieve stress. Additionally, I like to end my days by unwinding with a thriller or historical fiction book. My goal is to one day form a book club, where I am surrounded by others who love to read, and those who wish to be life-long learners.
