I have been working for Service Canada for 6 years, and prior to that I worked primarily in the hospitality and customer service fields as a front line agent. The many skills I acquired during my 15 years in the service industry transferred to Service Canada incredibly well. I am a fast learner and highly adaptable, I am creative at problem solving, I am proficient working with various computer systems and programs, and my interpersonal and communication skills are excellent. Working with the federal government means maintaining a meticulous eye on details in my work, as well as being able to prioritize more urgent work items that deal with extremely secure information that must be kept confidential and safe in order to protect our clients. Additionally, unfortunately times do occur where a client is in distress or upset about policies regarding their prospective benefit or payment. My time in hospitality has taught me how to communicate with clients by using empathy and patience, and I'm skilled at de-escalating and rectifying situations quickly and fairly. I am thrilled to be able to assist Canadians in this way, but I do ultimately strive to assist the public on a greater scale, and hopefully in innovative, sustainable ways. I am ambitious, creative and passionate, and want to bring my many personal and professional skills to an employer who can help me elevate to my highest potential.
