The FPU Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of the FPU Coordination Office as well as for the deployed Formed Police Units' Commanders and coordinates the administrative, operational, training, and logistical requirements of the deployed Formed Police Units (FPUs) with a total staffing soon to reach 1450 police officers. Additionally, the FPU Coordinator ensures the implementation, compliance, and consistency with policies, procedures, and relevant directives with respect of the FPUs and their duties. The FPU Coordinator writes the appraisals of the FPU Commanders as well as for the Deputy FPU Coordinators. The FPU Coordinator reports to the Police Commissioner (PC) through the Chief of Operations and the Deputy Police Commissioner in all matters related to the FPUs, with a technical reporting line to the FPU Coordination Office in DPO/Police Division, UNHQs, New York.

Additionally, he/she ensures the implementation, compliance, and consistency with policies, procedures, and relevant directives with respect of the FPUs and their duties. The FPU Coordinator writes the appraisals of the FPU Commanders as well as for the Deputy FPU Coordinators. The FPU Coordinator reports to the Police Commissioner (PC) through the Chief of Operations and the Deputy Police Commissioner in all matters related to the FPUs, with a technical reporting line to the FPU Coordination Office in DPKO/Police Division, UNHQs, New York.

• UNMIL had eight FPUs with an authorized manpower of 1,005 officers. The primary objective in assigning tasks to FPUs is to make the best use of their added value, which is derived from their ability to act as a cohesive unit and their special weapons and equipment. FPUs have three core tasks: • Public order management; • Protection of United Nations personnel and facilities; • Supporting police operations that require a formed response and may involve a higher risk. • The FPU Coordinator (Deputy Chief of Operations-FPU) reports to the Police Commissioner (PC) through the Chief of UNPOL Operational Capacity Building Department and the Deputy Police Commissioner in all matters related to the FPUs, with a technical reporting line to the FPU Coordination Office in DPKO/Police Division, UNHQs, New York. The Head of Section also acts as direct supervisor of the eight FPU commanders and the team leader of the FPU Coordinators office.

Worked for a State law enforcement agency as a sergeant assigned to the full time SWAT Team (GI-gruppo intervento).Led the team in several missions in serving high risk arrest warrants, search warrants, and on call out incidents. Worked as the team leader on several dignitary protection missions of local and foreign dignitaries. Actively participated in the development and implementation of the newly adopted weapon retention and weapon disarm program.
