As part of the tender 'Support to the New European Bauhaus Local Initiatives', I am coordinating the Technical Assistance Teams of two New European Bauhaus projects (Pampilhosa da Serra, Portugal and Horta, Azores). The TA team has experts from ICLEI Europe and Ramboll and a portfolio coordinator from Adelphi.

Urban Landscape Researcher with a doctoral degree in the Jaguaré Project, which was supported by the Water Resources Fund of the State of São Paulo, FEHIDRO. Coordination with local government and institutions to disseminate nature-based solutions in the Brazilian planning agenda. Sustainable measures for rainwater control and water quality improvement were proposed for the Water Basin of the Jaguaré, a tributary of one of the most important rivers of the city, the canalized Pinheiros River. Among them, Low Impact Development devices (LIDs) were positioned throughout the territory, considering how these could be designed to better fit multifunctional uses, i.e. solve technical problems such as storm water control whilst serving as public spaces for the local communities. Work in a multidisciplinary team, formed by water engineers, landscape architects and geographers. Experience in international proposal writing.

At Amima Arquitetura, Daniela worked on the development of sustainable urban schemes and design studies. The projects were meticulously designed to minimise environmental impact and coexist harmoniously with the natural surroundings. The key focus areas included the implementation of environmentally friendly cooling systems powered by solar or geothermal energy, innovative wastewater treatment methods using plants, the innovation of self-cleaning surfaces, utilisation of porous concrete, plant-based waterproofing solutions, the inclusion of plants that could purify indoor air from toxins, etc. Daniela played a vital role in designing and detailing building components, collaborated closely with civil engineers, and conducted research on ecological building materials. She was also instrumental in developing strategies to seamlessly integrate sustainability concepts into infrastructure design and creation processes.
