I would love the opportunity to teach Elementary Education. I strongly believe in having the power to make a difference and help people. Some individuals may donate to charities or save lives, but I have always felt that education is also a way to achieve this. The purpose of education to me should include the learning of new material, being culturally aware, challenging oneself to always strive for more, building a sense of identity and feeling confident and independent to perform in and out of the classroom setting. I have recently graduated from Rutgers University and am in the process of achieving my Certificate of Eligibility. Throughout my college experience, I had the opportunity to observe and reflect on two distinct classroom settings, one in the Elizabeth school system and another in the Sayreville school system. These experiences solidified my desire to become a teacher. I learned some classroom management techniques, methods as well as fundamental basics that will help me in my teaching career. Although I have not had formal experience in a public school setting, I have had a lot of experience assisting children of different levels, designing lesson plans and implementing techniques on my own, as well as attending classes that pertain to educational development. If given the opportunity, I promise to fulfill my commitment of working to my maximum potential and to make my students not only feel empowered/inspired but excited for another day of learning.
