I am a professional bilingual and bicultural English-Spanish freelance translator and conference interpreter with more than 18 years of experience in the market. I have spoken and studied both languages practically my entire life. I have worked in all areas of the business; when I graduated, I worked as a Project Coordinator and then Project Manager for multinational localization firms and then went freelance to do what I love, which is translating and interpreting.Over these years, I have been involved in many new long-term and challenging projects ranging from technology, IT, mining, business, marketing, market research, finance, and healthcare. The world has certainly changed during this time, and I can say I have always been fortunate to be part of the world’s trends working on topics such as financial crises, the boom of mining in Chile, the introduction of new products in the local market, software implementation, cultural exchange, Governmental Organizations such as ECLAC and UN Women, bidding processes for civil works, natural disasters (insurance, geology, aid, etc.), and recently in healthcare due to the pandemic. I consider myself both a bookworm and a go-getter; that is why whenever I am invited to become part of a new project, I dedicate time to study, do research, and contact people and talk to experts myself if I have to.This wonderful profession allows me to help people communicate and do what I love doing: studying, reading, traveling, and experiencing the topics that I have worked on on-site. I always say I don’t only translate or interpret; I do a complete immersion to get the message across in the best way possible.
