Senior Mep Estimation Engineer
Current• Review, evaluate, and analyse tender documents to ensure that cost estimations comply with project requirements.• Expertise in pricing direct costs, including the ability to create detailed rate build-ups for material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services.• Demonstrate competence in estimating indirect costs, including site management, insurances, bonds, temporary MEP utilities, and contingencies, as well as understanding of how corporate overhead and profit are factored into cost proposals.• Prepare Bills of Quantities, ensuring precise measurement and costing of MEP items.• Identify value engineering (VE) opportunities to optimise cost efficiency including cost reduction exercises and alternative solutions that maintain or enhance project quality.• Supervise and oversee the estimation team's work, ensuring compliance with project requirements and accuracy in cost estimation.• Compile a tender list, conduct pre-qualification assessments for potential subcontractors, and initiate the formal process of inviting them to submit competitive proposals through request for proposal (RFP).• Procurement of MEP subcontractors, suppliers, and specialists; evaluating their proposals and quotations; and preparing comparisons based on the received bids• Manage and record unit prices in a database for future reference.• Conduct meetings with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure clarity on the scope of work and project requirements.• Work closely with the contracts department to review contract documents, including the letter of acceptance (LOA) and subcontract agreement (SA), ensuring alignment with project requirements.• Proficient in using Construction Computer Software (CCS), with expertise in creating and updating MEP Masters and pricing tender projects.
