I am the lead engineer on the Integrations product team responsible for B2B APIs accounting for 85% of company revenue.Recently I owned the customer-facing API, monitoring, load testing, and go-live readiness for our $4M Rate Quote modernization project. We improved median response time by 4x and P90 by 10x. Speed improvements are driving an incremental $500M/yr of New Insurance Written in a single real-time bidding channel. This Value of New Business is worth $2M/yr.On the side, I lead our company-wide Monitoring Focus Group that advocates for consistent monitoring practices by writing guidelines, presenting at Tech Talks, and mentoring engineers across the organization.An example of a monitoring project I've taken on is rearchitecting our customer file delivery to provide end-to-end tracking at the business process level.

As our cloud footprint was growing, Enact needed a Cloud Engineering team to manage the environment. I transitioned from the Architecture team to start the Cloud team. We rapidly built out the team through internal hiring, external hiring, and data reorg. We went from one person to now a combined Cloud and Data Engineering team of 9 FTEs and 6 contractors including a Director and Data Engineering manager.I used my flexibility to deliver results wherever the need was across the two functions. In 2021 and 2022, I was heavily allocated towards the Data Engineering side to help design and build our data engineering development processes, Snowflake and Talend environments, and ML pipeline framework.

Areas of focus include simplifying through serverless, designing multifaceted security, identity/federation, and app performance monitoring. All AWS management is done with infrastructure as code using Terraform. I helped design and built out AWS components for new projects. I also provided multi-language demos of application monitoring and observability patterns. I created a new version of our developer-facing ECS and Lambda pipelines for increased forward compatibility and security.

Genworth's IT Leadership Development Program includes four six-month rotations to gain experience in various areas of IT for a wide knowledge base and cross-functional team experience.- Architecture: Led creation of an ADFS cluster for our business unit. Migrated from AWS IAM users to roles.- Application Security: Rolled out static analysis tool, onboarded apps, and drove remediation with dev teams.- ETL: Developed an Informatica job to load fraudulent claim signals from Hive to an investigation application.- Network Security: Tuned a new Cloud Security Access Broker and Data Loss Prevention.
