My name is Daniela Gizzi and I am currently a teacher at Saint Luke's School in Whitestone, Queens, NY. I strive to create a classroom environment overflowing with encouragement, motivation and perseverance. I graduated from Queens College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and History in 2011. As of result of Queens College's motivational program, I was able to acquire my Initial Certification in Childhood Education for grades 1 through 6. I am currently taking classes in Elementary Education (Grades 1-6) and Children’s Literature in order to obtain my master’s degree. I expect to be completed with the program at Queens College in December of 2014. I have always had a great love for children and during my many teaching experiences, my love for children and teaching has only flourished. In my opinion, teaching is a pivotal role in a child's life. As a teacher, I am determined to carry out every possible undertaking to help my students achieve academic success. I encourage each child to have high aspirations. A teacher's role is not only as a facilitator of learning but as a guide to help a student reach their fullest potential. From each teaching experience, I gain new knowledge, refine my teaching skills and reflect on my teaching practices. As a fast learner, I easily adapt to different situations and challenges. I am innovative, enthusiastic and have an uncompromising work ethic. My creativity would be an asset to any elementary classroom.
