I work closely with engineers, data scientists, product management and UX designers in the Italian NLU Team involved in the Development and Localization of Samsung's AI Voice Assistant, called Bixby 2.0.My job here is to allow Bixby to understand the Italian Language by providing high quality training for the machine-learning system. Promoted later as a Quality Assurance Project Lead, I have become in charge of the language management of the voice-assistant by improving the UX and product quality. Here are some of my tasks:A) I write NL training guidelines for both devs and linguists;B) I define specs and must-work use cases;C) I raise and resolve ambiguities and product issues at the cross-team level and discuss them with HQ, local PM and other stakeholders on daily basis;D) I coordinate and recruit a small team of QA linguists/NLU engineers by assigning tasks, monitoring dashboard and internal KPIs via Jira and a Agile project management methodology.E) I also design, coordinate and run research and usability tests, discover insights and issues from data, suggest improvements and new features to meet the custumer satisfaction;F) I monitor the quality via regression tests and analytics metrics; I spot issues/bugs and mentor the team to fix them;

I headed the Linguistic Department (R&D) in providing in-depth language analysis and developing sets of lexicon-semantic rules and syntactic grammars, in order to ensure the correct categorisation of social media users within the Buzzoole's AI Influencer Marketing platform (https://buzzoole.com/page/technology)Main activities:- recruitment, coordination and overseeing of a small (multilingual) team of linguists;- definition of the linguistic strategic plan (for Italian, English and Russian);- definition of annotation guidelines, construction of lexical resources, corpora, terminology and taxonomies;- design of a personalized and market-oriented ontology for Buzzoole (with more then 200 discussion topics);- management of Natural Language Understanding tasks (e.g. semantic-syntactic analysis of short and long texts, pre-processing, normalization, disambiguation, categorization, sentiment analysis, error analysis and evaluation of the results);- working closely with data scientists, developers, designers, product manager, marketing and operations team.

I was in charge of the course of "Linguistica & Nuovi Media" (headed by Prof. Annibale Elia), for students enrolled in the Master Degree: "Teoria dei Linguaggi e della Comunicazione Audiovisiva"The course focused on the role of verbless constructions in Italian by means of an in-depth corpus based analysis. Students were involved in group excercises: they collected titles from the main Italian newspapers and manually annotated them on the basis of annotation guidelines. They also built matrix tables and lexicon-grammar classifications and have become familiar with the main predication and anti-elliptical theories.
