CurrentI create and grow the platforms and infrastructure for a software company developing advanced shape-recognition and vectorization algorithms for medical, scientific, military, and industrial applications.Our work is powered by image-analysis technology prototyped under a contract with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), designed to use object models to analyze still or motion image data, generated by a variety of sensors including microscopes, cameras, RADAR, LiDAR, SONAR... anything that generates data that can be represented as an image. We utilize symbolic object-model technology based on Bézier curves, specifically targeted to the problem of edge detection in still frames and video data. In a nutshell, our technology implements some of the basic functions of the mammalian visual cortex in algorithmic form. We can see and identify objects and forms not discernible to human eyes, with precision and reliability far exceeding that of any other current AI methods of machine vision, and critically, our approach can explain how decisions were arrived at. Current clients include the Navy and Air Force, IBM Geospatial Analytics, and the Univ. of Penn SEAS Bioengineering and Penn Medicine Pathology labs.
